Collaboration in Chat and Spaces

Google Chat allows Google Workspace users to connect, share files and chat seamlessly either on a one-on-one basis or in spaces comprising of different team members both internal and externally. The best thing is Chat is integrated with Gmail to help users keep track of all their work communication and conversations in one window.

Change Chat Position in Gmail

By default Google Chat, Rooms and are located on the left-hand side of your Gmail inbox, this can obstruct your view from all the Labels you have created. You can move your chat, rooms and meet to the right-hand side of your Gmail inbox. Click on Setting(the Gear Icon) then See All Settings.

Select the Chat and Meet tab, next to the Chat position, select Right side of the Inbox, and click Save Changes. The page will refresh for your changes to take effect.

Collaboration in dedicated spaces

Create dedicated virtual rooms to keep projects organized and on track. Within spaces you are also able to easily assign tasks, share files and collaborate with team members within (or outside) the oganization.
